The 150cm “Moving and Talking Gourai” Unveiled for the First Time at Kotobukiya’s Booth, All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2025

With the crowdfunding campaign achieving 165% of its goal, the Cutieroid Frame Arms Girl “Gourai” Project has finally come to life!

What is the Cutieroid “Frame Arms Girl Gourai”?

Cutieroid” is a project that brings beloved 2D anime and game characters into the 3D world as lifelike characters you can actually meet and interact with.

The project features two main sizes:

  • the 55 cm CutieroidDoll, and

  • the 150 cm Cutieroid,

both developed as moving robotic figures that revive these characters in the real world.

Launched on July 12, 2025, the Cutieroid Frame Arms Girl Gourai crowdfunding campaign aimed to debut Gourai at the All Japan Model & Hobby Show. Thanks to the warm support of our supporters, the campaign concluded with 165% achievement, reaching its stretch goal. The model received professional painting from a specialist company to ensure accurate coloring.

Special Performance Highlights

The completed 10:1 scale / 150 cm “moving and talking Gourai” was showcased in a special exhibition performance created exclusively for the event.

At the Kotobukiya booth, visitors experienced a one-of-a-kind performance featuring the life-sized Gourai.

Special Voice Performance by Narumi Kaho, Voice of Gourai

Equipped with voice playback, the robot delivered lines as if truly alive. For this event, a special script was recorded by Narumi Kaho, the original voice actress of Gourai from the anime Frame Arms Girl.

The performance included approximately 8 minutes of unique dialogue tailored specifically for the show.

Natural and Expressive Movements

Driven by high-performance motors, Gourai performed 18 distinct poses, combining natural head and arm motions.
Through projection-mapped facial expressions, she conveyed lifelike emotions, allowing visitors to experience a new dimension of character realism.

Appearance of Another Gourai — The 55 cm CutieroidDoll

Alongside the 150 cm model, the 55 cm CutieroidDoll “Frame Arms Girl Gourai” was also exhibited.
This smaller robot doll featured the same voice and pose performances, representing the ongoing development toward a product envisioned as a “partner to share everyday life with”—whether relaxing at home or going out together.

The version displayed this time at the Hobby Show was the fourth prototype, featuring further evolution since its appearance at Wonder Festival 2025 [Summer], including:

  • 8 new motion patterns (under development)

  • Reinforced neck structure

  • Improved waist stability
